The Willows Dining Room: They Came Back to Check. The Cockroaches Were Still There.

The Reinspection That Didn't Go as Planned

The whole point of a reinspection is to verify that the problem is fixed. At The Willows Dining Room in Laguna Hills, the inspector came back to check on the cockroach situation and discovered... the cockroach situation was still a situation.

"On this date, evidence of cockroach activity was still observed in the facility."

Still. Observed. That's the inspector's polite way of saying the cockroaches didn't get the memo about the reinspection.

What This Means

When a restaurant fails its reinspection for the same issue, it means whatever they tried didn't work. The pest control wasn't aggressive enough, or the underlying conditions (gaps, debris, moisture) that attract cockroaches haven't been addressed.

Another reinspection was scheduled. The cockroaches, presumably, were not consulted about the new date.

///

The Bottom Line

Failing a reinspection is worse than failing the initial inspection. It means you had weeks to fix the problem, knew the inspector was coming back, and still couldn't get it done. That's not a one-time issue — that's an ongoing problem.
