New Peking Gourmet: Closed for Both Cockroach AND Rodent Infestation

9092 Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove, CA 92844

Two Infestations, One Restaurant

Most restaurants that get shut down have one pest problem. New Peking Gourmet decided to collect the whole set: cockroach AND rodent infestation, both confirmed, both serious enough for an immediate permit suspension.

Only two restaurants in our entire Orange County database earned the "double infestation" distinction. New Peking Gourmet is one of them (Tram 3 Cream Coffee is the other). It's not a club anyone wants to be in.

The Reinspection

On March 27, 2026, the owner (H. Cheng) requested a reinspection. The inspector found: no vermin activity observed. Pest control receipt was provided. The permit was reinstated.

So the good news is they fixed it. The bad news is they had both cockroaches AND rodents coexisting in their kitchen, which raises questions about how long the situation had been building before someone noticed.

The Bottom Line

A double infestation doesn't happen overnight. It takes sustained conditions — food debris, moisture, gaps in the building, and probably a lack of regular pest control — for both cockroaches and rodents to establish themselves in the same facility. The permit was reinstated, but we'll be watching this one closely in future inspections.
