Look, we love MoonGoat. The vibes are immaculate, the oat milk latte slaps, the baristas remember your name. But the Garden Grove location has a few extra regulars that didn't come for the coffee.
During a routine inspection, inspectors found dead cockroaches on the floor next to the rear prep cooler and on sticky traps underneath the two-door upright freezer. That's right — the roaches were so comfortable they weren't even hiding anymore. Just vibing on the floor. At a coffee shop. Where you eat.
The Cooler That Could Not
Plot twist: the cockroaches aren't even the main character. The one-door upright cooler has been on its own journey — serviced twice, still running at 43F (supposed to be 41F max). This cooler has had two repair visits and said "nah" both times.
At least they weren't storing food in it. Small wins.
The Bottom Line
Dead cockroaches on sticky traps means the traps are doing their job — but it also means cockroaches are actively present in the facility. The dead ones on the floor suggest the population was significant enough that some weren't even making it to the traps.
MoonGoat's other locations (Irvine, Costa Mesa, Laguna Beach) all passed their most recent inspections. This appears to be a Garden Grove location-specific issue, possibly related to the building or neighboring businesses.
If you're a MoonGoat regular at this location, maybe swing by the Costa Mesa or Irvine spot until Garden Grove passes its follow-up.
