Mas House: Rodent Droppings Found at the Counter During Reinspection
24291 Avenida de la Carlota Ste P1, Laguna Hills, CA 92653
"Eliminated" Is a Strong Word
Mas House in Laguna Hills was closed on April 2, 2026 for a rodent infestation. They called for a reinspection the next day. The inspector came back and found rodent droppings next to the front service counter.
That's the counter where they hand you your food. Where you pay. Where you stand and wait for your order. Rodent droppings. Right there.
The manager cleaned and sanitized the droppings on the spot. The inspector scheduled yet another follow-up. Because "we cleaned the droppings you found" is not the same as "we eliminated the rodents."
The Front Counter Problem
Finding rodent droppings in a back storage room is bad. Finding them at the front service counter is a different level. That's the most visible, most public-facing part of the restaurant. If the rodents are comfortable enough to leave evidence there, imagine what the back of the house looks like.
The Bottom Line
Getting closed for a rodent infestation and then having droppings found at the front counter during your reinspection is not a great look. It suggests the infestation is active and widespread, not contained to one area. Laguna Hills has plenty of options. We'd wait for the all-clear on this one.
